Designed specifically for business events, the Indigenous Niagara Heritage and Legacy Tour from Niagara Parks offers a unique opportunity for your group to connect with Indigenous history, culture, and the rich legacy of the Niagara region.
This tour provides a chance to learn about the significance of treaties and the pivotal contributions of First Nation Allies during the War of 1812, and the ongoing connection between Indigenous communities and the land.
Tour Highlights:
- Landscape of Nations: A 1 – 1.5 hour experience with Indigenous guides and subject matter experts, at this Commemorative Memorial dedicated to the Haudenosaunee (Six Nations) Confederacy and Indigenous allies that participated in the War of 1812.
Optional Add-ons:
- Laura Secord Homestead, to learn about the history-defining
connections between this heroic woman and Indigenous peoples
(30 minutes) - Niagara Parks Power Station + Tunnel, to explore the connections between Niagara Falls and the Indigenous communities who have called these lands home for thousands of years (choose a 1 hour or 2 hour visit)
- Indigenous-themed lunch overlooking the Falls at Table Rock House Restaurant (1.5 hours)
